WHY is that important?
*Aligned values are the basis for long term relationships.
*Aligned values will help to find the right people for your team.
*Aligned values will help you to communicate the right message.
*Aligned values will ultimately connect your business with the right customer.
HOW MANY should I choose?
For a business, 3 to 5 is a great indicator.
If you are an individual, stick to 2 and read Brene Brown book “Dare to lead.”
HOW TO DEFINE YOUR BUSINESS VALUES?
(I suggest that company’s Founder and / or CEO are highly engaged in this process).
1) Start with writing down your CORE BELIEFS and what do you value in CULTURE of your business.
2) Think of what is important to YOU and not what you read online or what was suggested by others.
* You should feel deep connection and resonance with these values.
3) You should base your company’s decision making with these values in mind.
Few examples:
If as a business you value QUALITY, then a client who goes around price balling might not be your best choice.
If as a business you value AUTHENTICITY, then a client who wants copy/paste work won’t add to your fulfillment / energy, but rather drain it.
If as a business you value TRUST and LONG-TERM relationship with your clients, then a sales representative with hard sale approach might not be your best choice. Because he/she would concentrate only on short term gains.
People come to you if your values are in alignment with theirs.
In order to find your target customers or collaborators, you need to communicate what those values are.
And remember, it is not enough to determine them. The challenge is to LIVE IN and practice THESE VALUES.
